The way in which my product used the conventions of a real magazine is because the design is based around other magazines of its style such as: NME and Kerrang. I have used various articles to refer to styles I have included in my magazine to create it. The front cover I have created has many features and conventions that would be included in a professional magazine such as:
FRONT COVER
- Mast Head
- Barcode
- Date/Issue Number
- Sell Lines
- Main Sell line
- Banners
- Main Image
- Price
As you can see in the above picture, I have included these elements for example on the Left Side at the Top I have included the magazines Mast Head, this has the magazines name on it (K-Rock). Other features include banners at both the bottom and the top of the article which include bands that are featured inside the article.
Also we have a main sell line: "Red Tuesday Return!" and below sell lines that include the following:
-Exclusive 2 page Interview
-Our top 10 local acts of 2013
-2 Free limited edition posters
The main image includes the front man (Brandon Smith). At the front of the group followed by the drummer (Thomas Spence) and then (Ciaran Howe-Hartley) this is a typical style you would find in a magazine.
At the bottom right hand corner we have the bar-code which includes next to the it the magazines issue number; and with this being the first ever issue there is a small tab on the top right hand corner to label it the "first issue".
